The University Innovation Lab is the UIA’s online hub and practitioner community that helps student success leaders and campus teams advance innovative initiatives to improve outcomes for all students.
Through access to timely conversations and training opportunities, learnings from initiatives being tested at UIA partner institutions, and chances to collaborate and connect with people who are working on similar challenges, the Lab helps campuses innovate more efficiently and effectively.
The Lab is for public or non-profit colleges and universities interested in redesigning the college experience to support better student success outcomes. It contains resources and opportunities for leaders looking for ways to help their team innovate more effectively; early career professionals looking for opportunities to grow; and space to connect with other higher ed innovators from institutions near and far.
The Lab community includes those in campus leadership positions, mid-level managers, student-facing staff, and program and project managers.
We have three subscription levels based on campus size:

Your subscription helps support the work of the UIA and allows us to continue creating resources and training opportunities to help you innovate more effectively - we add new content and engagement opportunities monthly!
The Lab currently serves higher ed administrators and professionals from all 17 of the UIA’s member institutions - public research universities that have committed to piloting innovative student success initiatives to increase the number and diversity of college graduates in the United States, and sharing what they learn along the way.
We know that becoming a UIA member campus is not possible for every institution. Subscribing to the Lab is a great way to get involved in this essential work at a lower price point and commitment level. We believe that good ideas can come from anywhere and that diffusing ideas that work allows us to impact change on a larger scale. The Alliance invites institutions nationwide to subscribe to the Lab to not only learn from the work of our UIA member institutions but also to share ideas and collaborate alongside us.

In the Lab, members have access to a growing library full of actionable resources, virtual workshops and interactive discussions, and professional development opportunities, like live and self-paced courses. The Lab’s resources are built to equip higher ed practitioners with the tools needed to move the needle on student success on their campuses.
