UIA Project Management Responsibilities:

Project Management: Provide strategic assistance to keep UIA-related projects moving forward at ASU. Manage ASU student success projects from various departmental stakeholders and leaders. Facilitate communication and information sharing between key players for each project. Research, compile, prepare, and compose analysis, data, and documents supporting ASU and UIA initiatives. Identify, coordinate, and manage project-specific budgets and resources in collaboration with the business center and other relevant administrative units.

Internal/External Relations: Represent ASU’s UIA liaison at relevant campus meetings. Anticipate and assist with preparing, or independently preparing, documents, presentations, and reports. Establish, manage, and maintain collaborations and partnerships with key departments, programs, and groups. Facilitate communication and collaboration between ASU and the UIA central office and between ASU and other UIA member institutions.  Maintain frequent communication with Fellows at other UIA institutions.  Coordinate the gathering of data and information requested by UIA or other institutions.

Central Projects & Service: Contribute to central UIA projects and multi-campus initiatives such as site visits, conference presentations, and grant proposals. Serve on relevant ASU task forces and committees related to undergraduate student success and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Works on project plans, develops, implements, and manages a project team by completing task definitions, work requirement identification, and assignments;
  • Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes; identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s); 
  • Establishes and continually monitors/manages project expectations with the team; assigns tasks and identifies issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness
  • Prepares and maintains all project status reports and schedules; tracks milestones/deliverables, critical paths, and dependencies; and resets expectations as needed, considering project progress/outcomes. 
  • Responds to all inquiries regarding project status; prepare and respond to all regulatory reporting/filings to ensure compliance;
  • Manages, coaches, and supervises all project team members, both internal and contracted, to ensure optimal outcomes; builds, develops, and maintains relationships vital to project success;

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years related experience; 3 of which include project management, OR, any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience working in Arizona higher education institutions
  • Evidence of organization skills and project management across university units
  • Evidence of commitment and passion in transforming higher education to increase access to education and improve outcomes for students within Arizona’s educational system
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Design Thinking, process mapping, and other innovative problem-solving techniques

Salary Range: $78,000 - $80,500 per year
