PORTLAND, Ore., March 1, 2019 / PRNewswire/ -- The University Innovation Alliance (UIA) today announced that it has received a $2.4 million grant from Strada Education Network to identify, test, and scale strategies to improve undergraduate career readiness for at-risk students through an unprecedented collaboration among several of the nation's largest research universities.

Size Up Edtech Startups

UIA Executive Director Bridget Burns will serve as a judge for SXSW EDU's eighth annual Launch and Learn by Design competition in Austin this year. Every year, a series of early stage education startups take the stage at SXSW EDU to pitch the work they're doing to industry experts, early adopters, investors, and educators during the eighth annual Launch competition. This year’s finalists include a company that makes an AI-powered companion robot for kids and audio-guided multimodal learning experiences.
