Samantha Munguia

Sam is responsible for the UIA’s finance and administrative management in partnership with the UIA leadership. She has over 17 years of grants, financial, and operations management experience in the public sector including 13 years of research administration and financial management experience at institutions of higher education in Arizona. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Director of Research Advancement at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business where she focused on implementing college-wide research and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives. Sam earned a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies in Organizational Management from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Finance.

An Arizona native, Sam grew up in Southern Arizona along the U.S.-Mexico border and is a first-generation college student. Sam lives with her dog, Lola, and enjoys being close to friends and family.
