

Andy Kane
Andy Kane is the University Innovation Alliance Fellow for Virginia Commonwealth University. Andy enters the role after spending 8 years at VCU, serving as an Academic Advisor and, most recently, the Associate Director for Tutoring Services for VCU's Campus Learning Center. Before VCU, Andy worked as a Community Director at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Carolina Housing.
Andy's professional commitments center on developing meaningful and educational student employment experiences and maintaining the public university as a public good. He looks forward to the UIA Fellowship as an opportunity to support students and higher education institutions in becoming the best versions of themselves.
Andy received a BS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, an MEd in College Counseling (Student Affairs) from Clemson University, and is a PhD student in Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Education, where his research interest is the political economy of public education.
A native of Milwaukee, WI, Andy lives in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, Emily, and their son, Owen.
