Paul Kohn
Paul Kohn serves as the University of Utah’s inaugural Senior Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment and Student Success, overseeing enrollment management, undergraduate studies, global engagement, University Connected Learning, and regional campuses, including the Utah Asia Campus.
With more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration, Kohn has held leadership roles at the University of Arizona and Georgia Institute of Technology. At Georgia Tech, he led efforts that dramatically expanded enrollment, diversified the student body, and increased institutional impact.
A first-generation college student from Brooklyn, New York, Kohn earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and later completed a master’s in educational administration and a Ph.D. in educational psychology. His path—from aspiring veterinarian to nationally recognized enrollment leader—has been shaped by a passion for access, equity, and student success.
Kohn is excited about the opportunity to help the University of Utah strengthen its position among top public research institutions and to support students on their path to graduation and beyond. He and his wife, Wendy, are enjoying life in Utah with their two dogs, cat, and African grey parrot.
