Steve Wuhs
The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (AVP) is the senior liaison responsible for strategic leadership and management focused on improving undergraduate co-curricular education experiences while maintaining a focus on undergraduate student success university-wide and championing access and education equity for underserved populations. Steve oversees the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and the Arts (URSA), the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) units (Aerospace Studies, Military Science, and Naval Sciences), the Office of Global Opportunities (OSU GO), STEM Leaders, and the University Innovation Alliance (UIA) fellowship.
Dr. Wuhs served as a faculty member for almost 20 years at the University of Redlands. He also served as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Associate Provost for Internationalization, a role which he oversaw international student support and coordinated university-wide study abroad and overseas risk management. As a scholar of Mexican and Latin American Politics, he served as the chair of the Department of Political Science and Director of both Latin American Studies and International Relations. In various administrative roles he worked on projects related to student success and he advocated for DACA students and Latinx students by leading a campus HSI designation working group and grant writing team. He is currently participating in La Academia de Liderazgo, a leadership academy run by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
